We Shall Imitate Jesus

Published: August 2, 2024 · Reviewed: September 2, 2024

1 JOHN 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

God wants to transform you. He won't give up until you resemble Christ Jesus.

ROMANS 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

God already decided what to do. YOU'LL END UP LIKE JESUS! (It may take a while -- but God has sufficient time.)

This obviously does not imply bodily similarity, but rather perfection. Moral and spiritual perfection, and yes, even physical and mental perfection.

Therefore, don't let your current situation depress you. God keeps working and never stops.

PHILIPPIANS 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

How does God manage this? Basically by His Word. Keep yourself in the Word. You will transform more and more into the image of Jesus Christ when you subject yourself more to the precise Word of God.

SAY THIS: God is transforming me to be more like Jesus

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your promise to transform us into the image of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We trust in Your Word and Your timing, knowing that You are working in us, even when we cannot see it. Help us to immerse ourselves in Your Word, to be shaped and molded by Your truth. We declare with faith, "God is transforming me to be more like Jesus!" We look forward to the day when we shall see Him as He is. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
