Who Is The Right One?

Published: August 3, 2024 · Reviewed: September 5, 2024

Whose instruction should I follow? Even though all Christians profess to trust the same Bible, it appears that they disagree on a number of issues.

How do I decide who to trust? Who is correct?

The Bible, which God provided to us as His Word so that we could learn the truth, contains some instructions that can be used to answer this issue.

JOHN 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Therefore, whether freedom is manifesting in the lives of those who accept an instruction is a crucial point. If not, Jesus' message which will set humans free, cannot be right.

Jesus told that we can evaluate something by whether or not "good fruit" is being created in Matthew 7.

MATTHEW 7:16-17,20 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Galatians explains what sort of fruit is created by Jesus disciples who lead spiritual lives.

GALATIANS 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Also in Hebrews 13:7-8, we find some very significant instructions about who we ought to follow.

HEBREWS 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

What has their instruction led to? Is it kindness, happiness, tranquility, tenderness, etc.? Are people released from bonds as a consequence of it? Are those who are damaged being cured and made complete? When we "think about the consequences of their behavior," these are the kinds of questions to ask.

Although they should demonstrate love to everyone, including their opponents, followers of Truth shouldn't expect universal acceptance and love. Everyone truly having faith in Jesus is often blamed, particularly by those with religious beliefs,

LUKE 6:26-27 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers to the false prophets. But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

MATTHEW 10:25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

Is their mission characterized by love, mercy, and compassion (just like Jesus had)? Or do they look like the Pharisees, who preferred to concentrate on following a set of guidelines rather than being concerned with supporting others?

HEBREWS 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Even decent, well-intentioned individuals who appear to be knowledgeable about the Bible can make mistakes. Many individuals have spent their whole lives studying the Bible but don't fully grasp it yet.

1 CORINTHIANS 12:12,27 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

God does not create us all the same way or give us all the same instructions. Therefore, don't deny or blame others simply because they are not the same as you.

JOHN 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Most significantly, Jesus explained how we could identify His genuine followers: by their love. You should therefore pray about changing things if the people you pursue are more well-known for battling than for selfless love and offering.

SAY THIS: Jesus Christ is Lord of the Kingdom of Love. He is the One who is right

Prayer

Heavenly Father, guide us in Your truth and wisdom. Amidst differing interpretations, may we seek Your Word as our compass. Help us to discern the fruits of the Spirit, to recognize love, joy, peace, and patience in those we follow. May we emulate the faith of those who lead us closer to You. Teach us to love even our enemies, to show mercy and compassion as Jesus did. Remind us that we are one body in Christ, diverse yet united in love. Above all, let our lives reflect Your love, for by this we are known as Your disciples. Amen.
