The Reason I Use Tongues

Published: August 5, 2024 · Reviewed: September 11, 2024

1 CORINTHIANS 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

Saying in tongues is equivalent to saying a language you haven't studied. It is a supernatural deed that can only be made feasible with the Holy Spirit's assistance.

MARK 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

It is believed that more than 500 million Christians worldwide currently are speaking in tongues. As stated in Acts 2:4, it began on the day of Pentecost.

ACTS 2:4

Every believer has the ability to use tongues if they decide to do so. All believers are eligible to receive it as a free present.

1 CORINTHIANS 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

This concept, in my opinion, has generated so much controversy because the devil opposes it, when realizing how much it helps Christians.

I'm not interested in debating anybody. I do want to see everybody take advantage of everything God has generously given us.

I have the gift of languages because

1 CORINTHIANS 14:2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

1 CORINTHIANS 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

There are additional advantages. I believe they're also pleasing to you.

SAY THIS: Thank you Lord for I can say in tongues.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Thank you for the gift of tongues, a divine language that allows us to communicate directly with You. We are grateful for the Holy Spirit's assistance in this supernatural act. We pray for the strength to use this gift wisely, to edify ourselves and the church. We rebuke any controversy or opposition from the enemy. We embrace all the blessings You have generously given us. May we always find joy and edification in speaking in tongues, and may it bring us closer to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
