MATTHEW 12:36-37 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
ROMANS 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The majority of Christians have ignored this field of Bible study, which is why we are spending the time to examine the significance of words.
We can see from Matthew 12:36β37 that Jesus believed that our words would be used significantly in judging us. Instead of simply being judged based on our behaviors, you might be wondering why that is the case.
Because words come before behaviors. All of our behaviors are determined by what is inside us, and what you speak reveals what you are thinking.
Also note the significance of proclaiming the Lord Jesus as your Savior in Romans 10:9. It is not sufficient only to have a heartfelt belief, we also need to openly declare that Jesus is Lord.
This is how belief effects everywhere. You must express what you believe in your mind as well as from your lips.
This is not limited to some hypothetical day of judgment. It is currently functioning.
Today, "confession to salvation (which means deliverance) is made with the mouth". If you are bonded right now, your words have the power to free you.
SAY THIS: Lord, please enable me to begin and keep speaking in line with Your Word.
