HEBREWS 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
While the Bible does caution us not to stop gathering with other believers in the passage above, it never specifies how frequently we ought to do so. It doesn't specify a time or location for our meeting either.
God did not want our gatherings to be merely rituals, rather, He wanted them to be productive.
It ought to be a time for relationship, education, communicating, sharing and accepting as well as spiritual inspiration, a moment to strengthen each other with what the body's other parts can offer.
1 CORINTHIANS 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
Taking instruction to better understand and apply God's Word is crucial, but that shouldn't be the only reason we gather together.
It was necessary to physically assemble when a Bible instructor was present to hear sanctified instruction of the Word at the time the Bible was written. But thanks to recorded media, we are no longer constrained by space or time.
More than just listening to somebody else "preach" to you is the main reason that Christians gather together. You should participate.
MATTHEW 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
In accordance with this verse, a "church meeting" can even be two believers conversing about the Word during their lunch hour. As specific believers, Jesus assured us that He would never abandon us. Thus, it follows that this verse must be referring to the particular manner in which Jesus manifests Himself when members of His body gather together in His Name.
Of course, in order to continue growing spiritually, it is imperative to routinely absorb instruction from God's Word. However, that is now possible wherever and whenever.
But far too many Christians end after only receiving the Word. They never exchange and engage with other people.
As a result, they don't mature and expand as they ought to. When you give what you have already gotten, you always learn more and gain more.
If going to worship is just a ritual for you and the benefits you receive are not different from what you could receive at home, then something needs to change. But kindly avoid blaming others for their actions or inactions.
SAY THIS: I'll continue the union with other Christians.
