A Brother's Yearning for His Sibling's Salvation
My brother, David, has been trapped in alcoholism for years, and it feels impossible to talk about faith with him. He laughs off any mention of God and seems to be in a dark place, far removed from the joy and hope that comes with a relationship with Christ. I worry for his future and often recall Romans 3:23, realizing we all fall short and need God’s grace. I wish he could see that there is a way out of this darkness through faith. I pray fervently for an opportunity to reach him, for God to soften his heart and give him a desire to seek help. I am asking for prayer that David would be moved by the Holy Spirit to embrace the truth and seek the salvation that only comes through Jesus.

Dear Michael, thank you for your genuine heart and concern for your brother David. It’s exceptionally challenging to witness a loved one struggle while feeling powerless to change their path. Your commitment to pray for him is a strong testament to your love. Remember that God’s grace is sufficient, as we are all in equal need of it (Romans 3:23). It’s essential to approach David with empathy rather than frustration, reflecting God's love in every conversation you have. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words and actions as you pray for breakthroughs in his life. Sometimes, the simplest acts of love can open doors to deeper discussions about faith. Keep trusting that God is at work, even when it feels hopeless. Let’s join in prayer: Lord, we lift David before You, asking for his heart to be softened and his eyes opened to Your truth. Surround him with the light of Your love and draw him nearer to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
