A Couple's Dream of Adoption Shattered
My husband and I have been on the journey to adopt for over two years. Just last week, we got a call saying that the birth mother decided to keep the baby. We had prepared ourselves for this little one to arrive, and now I feel like our dreams have been ripped away. I can’t comprehend this heartbreak. We had imagined our family growing, and instead, we are left with shattered hopes. I am asking for prayer to help us heal from this loss and to trust that God has a plan for our family, even if it feels impossible right now.

Dear Emily, my heart aches with you during this painful time. It’s overwhelming to dream and then feel those dreams dashed. Remember, you are not alone in this. Our Lord sees your pain, and He holds you close. In Psalm 34:18, it tells us that 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' Lean into Him in your sorrow. As you navigate this heartache, allow it to draw you closer to God, who is the ultimate healer of our hearts. Remember, 'Children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward' (Psalm 127:3). God has a purpose for your life and for your dreams of family. Keep praying, dear sister, and trust in His timing and plan. Join me in prayer: Lord, comfort Emily and her husband in this painful moment, and grant them renewed hope for the future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
