My father is a veteran who has recently returned home, but he’s struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I see the pain in his eyes when he thinks back to his time in the military, and it breaks my heart. He struggles to reintegrate into our family life, often withdrawing into himself. I worry about his mental health and the toll it takes on my mother, who is trying her best to support him through these challenges. They used to share everything, but now there's a distance that feels insurmountable. I’m asking for prayer not only for my father's healing and peace but also for our family to find strength and unity during this difficult time.

Dear Emily, thank you for sharing the heavy burden you carry for your father and your family. It is a challenging journey to witness a loved one struggle with the scars of war. Remember that our God sees your father’s pain and hears your cries. In Psalm 34:18, we are reminded that 'the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' Your father’s journey towards healing may not be a straight path, but it is a path he does not walk alone. Encourage him to seek professional help, and remind him of God’s promise in Joel 2:25, where He declares, 'And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.' Restoration may come in unexpected ways. As a family, lean on each other and remember the value of open conversations. In Romans 12:10, we are instructed to 'be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love.' Hold onto hope and pray for each other’s strengths during this time.
