A Father's Desire for Spiritual Growth Through Fasting
As a father of two young children, I often feel overwhelmed by everyday demands. I recognize the need for more spiritual strength and discipline in my life, especially through fasting. It seems daunting to find the time and the willpower to commit to this practice, but I know I need to draw closer to God for my family’s sake. I want to be a better example to my kids and create an atmosphere of faith at home, but I feel like I'm always falling short. Please pray that I can establish a fasting routine that will genuinely strengthen my faith and my family's spiritual foundation.

Dear Mark, thank you for sharing your heartfelt desire to deepen your spiritual journey through fasting. As a father, it’s noble that you want to set a strong example for your children. God honors your commitment to seek Him, and it’s never too late to start. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' Your desire to grow is part of God's plan for your life. Remember, establishing a fasting routine doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Start small and allow God to guide you, as 2 Corinthians 5:7 reminds us that we walk by faith, not by sight. Consider fasting for a day or even a meal each week, dedicating that time to prayer and reflection. As you do, watch how God moves in your life and in your family. Let’s pray: Lord, I pray for Mark, asking that You help him establish a meaningful fasting routine. May he find strength in You and be inspired to lead his family in faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
