A Father's Despair Amid Fears for His Disabled Son
I am a father to a beautiful son who has special needs. Every day is a challenge, filled with overwhelming love mixed with fears about his future. Will he be safe? Will he find friends? As he grows older, these worries intensify. I often imagine what could happen if I were not around to protect him. I struggle to find peace in my heart and am consumed by anxiety for his wellbeing. I need prayer for my fears to be lifted and for God to grant me wisdom to navigate the uncertainties that lie ahead. Please pray that I can trust God to care for him as I do.

Dear David, your love for your son is palpable, and it’s understandable to feel anxious about his future. Remember that our Heavenly Father understands our fears intimately. In Lamentations 3:23, we are told that His mercies are new every morning; great is His faithfulness. You can trust that God has a plan for your son—one filled with hope and purpose. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us not to be anxious but to bring our requests to God in prayer. I encourage you to do this daily, bringing every fear to Him. Also, reflect on John 14:27, where Jesus speaks of giving us peace—not as the world gives but a divine peace that calms our hearts. I will keep you and your son in my prayers, that God will comfort you and grant you wisdom and peace as you navigate this journey together.
