A Father's Grief for His Straying Daughter
My daughter, Sarah, has turned away from her faith since she started high school. She was once so involved in youth group and church activities, but now she’s openly rejecting those beliefs. It’s heartbreaking to watch her choose a path that I know leads to pain and confusion. I’ve tried talking to her, but she shuts me out and says I don’t understand her. I feel helpless and scared for her future. I ask for prayers that she will find her way back to the Lord, that her heart will be softened, and that she will remember the love she felt for Him as a child. Please pray for my family as we navigate this painful journey together.

Dear David, I can only imagine the deep hurt you feel watching Sarah drift away from her faith. The bond between a parent and child is unique, and your love for her is evident. It’s important to remember that God has a purpose and a plan for Sarah, even if it feels far away now. In Romans 3:23, we are reminded that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, which includes our children. Pray that she may recognize her need for grace. I encourage you to continue loving her unconditionally, as God loves us. It’s also vital to pray for her heart to be open to God's whispers. As stated in Ephesians 2:9, our salvation is not of works, but by faith—a truth that can resonate with her in time. I will pray that the Holy Spirit stirs her heart and guides her back to the truth. May you find strength in the Lord during this challenging season.
Amen.
