A Father’s Silent Struggle with a Wayward Daughter
As a father, it breaks my heart to see my daughter, Lily, distancing herself from not only our family but also from her faith. We were once close, sharing moments of laughter and prayer, but now she doesn't want to talk to me or her mother. I worry about the influences in her life that are pulling her away from the values we tried to instill in her. I've tried reaching out, but she pushes me away, and I feel helpless. I pray daily for her return to Christ and for healing in our relationship. I ask for prayer that God softens her heart and opens her eyes to the truth again.

Dear Mark, thank you for sharing your heart about Lily. It’s certainly painful to watch a child stray from the path we've prayed they would follow. First, know that your love for her is powerful and that God desires her return even more than you do. In Malachi 2:16, we see God's disdain for broken relationships, and He takes our family bonds seriously. It's important to keep demonstrating unconditional love; this can be a powerful testimony of God’s love to her. In Colossians 3:13, we are encouraged to 'forgive one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.' This might be an opportunity to show her grace in her choices, no matter how hard that may be. Your prayers are crucial, and I will join you in asking God to work in Lily’s heart and to help her see the loving embrace of Christ waiting for her. Let’s pray for both of you to find healing.
