A Grandparent's Concern for Their Grandkids' Safety
As a grandparent, my worries have shifted to my grandchildren, especially when they head off to school. I often find myself watching the news and feeling a knot in my stomach as I hear reports about school safety. These children are the light of my life, and the thought of anything happening to them is terrifying. I feel helpless living miles away, and I can't protect them the way I once could. I pray daily for their safety, but I still feel anxious and fearful. I seek prayers for my heart to be filled with peace, for wisdom on how to support my grandchildren, and for their well-being in this uncertain world.

Dear Evelyn, your heart as a grandparent shows the love and concern you have for your grandchildren. It is a natural feeling to want to protect them, especially in times like these. The Lord knows our fears and cares for us. Psalms 55:22 encourages us to cast our burdens on the Lord, and He will sustain us; He will never allow the righteous to be moved. It’s comforting to remember that God is watching over our loved ones, and we can trust in His care. As you pray for peace, remember that He has not given you a spirit of fear but of power, love, and soundness of mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Your role as a grandparent is significant, and your prayers can be a great source of strength for them. Remember also to encourage them to pray, teaching them that they are never alone. May the Lord fill you with His peace and comfort as you seek His presence in these fears. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, bless Evelyn and her grandchildren with your peace and protection. Amen.
