A Mother's Grief Over Adoption Unraveling
I am a single mother who was in the process of adopting a little boy from overseas. We formed such a strong bond through video calls, and I felt like he was already part of our family. However, I just found out that the adoption has fallen through due to legal issues. My heart feels heavy, and I don’t know how to help my son cope with this loss when he has been waiting so long for a forever home. I am asking for prayers to find peace, guidance, and strength to keep believing in God’s plan for both of us.

Dear Sara, I cannot imagine the heartbreak you and your son are enduring right now. It’s so difficult when we place our hopes in the plans we believe God has for us, only to face disappointment. Remember the comforting words of Ruth 1:16, where Ruth declares, 'Whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge.' Your love and commitment to your son reflect the love God has for us. This situation may feel insurmountable, but God is powerful and present even in our darkest hours. In Romans 8:28, we are reminded that 'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.' Keep holding onto your faith, and trust God’s plan for you both. Let’s pray: Lord, bring comfort and clarity to Sara and her son during this painful transition, showing them how to navigate their emotions and embracing hope in You. Amen.
