A Single Mother's Struggle with God's Goodness in Suffering

I’m a single mother of two, and lately, I’ve been wrestling with my faith. Our lives have been turned upside down since my job was cut, and my financial situation has become dire. I try to trust in God’s goodness, but sometimes it feels impossible when I see my children suffering. They don’t understand why we can’t afford basic things, and it breaks my heart. I feel alone and lost, questioning how a loving God could allow such hardships. I need prayer for understanding and strength to keep moving forward while finding peace in God’s plan for us. Please pray that my faith will be renewed, and that I can teach my children to trust in God's goodness despite our suffering.

Dear Maria, I want to encourage you in this difficult season. It’s entirely natural to question God’s goodness when faced with such trials. Remember, even in our hardest moments, God is still present and caring for us. As it says in Psalms 34:18, 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' Your heart’s cry does not go unheard. Trust in the promise that God has a plan for you, as mentioned in Jeremiah 29:11: 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' I encourage you to lean on Him, for He will guide your paths as you acknowledge Him (Proverbs 3:5-6). May you find solace in knowing that His strength is made perfect in your weakness. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, we lift Maria and her children to you, asking for provision and peace in their lives. Amen.
