A Student's Struggle with Test Anxiety and Doubt
I am a 23-year-old nursing student nearing graduation, but I can't shake the overwhelming anxiety I feel about my upcoming licensure exam. I’ve put in countless hours of studying, but every time I think about the test, I spiral into panic. I fear disappointing my family who have sacrificed so much for my education, and I worry that I won’t be able to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. Each night, I lie awake, replaying scenarios in my head and imagining failure. I ask for prayer to help me find peace and confidence, to trust in the preparation I have done, and to overcome this anxiety that threatens my future.

Dear Emily, I understand the heavy burden of anxiety that you are carrying as you approach your licensure exam. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalms 46:1). You are not alone in this struggle; many face similar fears, and God cares for each of us. He reminds us in Isaiah 41:10, 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.' As you prepare, lean into His promises and let His peace saturate your heart and mind, as stated in Philippians 4:7, which assures us that the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds. Place your trust in Him, and know that He has equipped you for this moment. Let us pray together for clarity, focus, and the strength to conquer your fears. God bless you, Emily.
