A Teen's Heartache Over Family Suffering
I’m a 17-year-old girl, and my family is going through a tough time. My dad lost his job, and my mom is struggling with depression. I feel torn apart seeing my parents fight and feeling helpless at home. I’ve always trusted God, but now I’m questioning how a loving God could let this happen to our family. I’ve prayed for peace and resolution, but it feels like nothing is changing. I’m asking for prayer to strengthen my faith and help me understand God’s purpose in all this pain. I want to be a light for my family, but I need encouragement and hope.

Dear Emily, thank you for reaching out and sharing your heart. Your desire to understand God’s purpose amid your family’s challenges shows great maturity and faith. It’s tough when we feel our world is crumbling, but remember, God is always at work, even when we can’t see it. In Romans 5:3-4, we see that trials produce perseverance, character, and hope. God uses these moments to shape us and grow our faith. Also, know that God is a refuge for the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He invites you to lean on Him in these heavy times. Encourage your family to turn to Him as well; He is close and ready to provide comfort. Let’s pray together: Lord, I ask that you bring peace to Emily and her family, drawing them closer to You during this storm. Amen.
