A Woman's Cry for Community and Encouragement
I’m a 38-year-old single mother who moved to a new town a year ago. I’ve been so focused on raising my kids and working that I’ve neglected my own spiritual needs. I feel lost without the support of a church community. I crave the encouragement that comes from being around other believers, sharing our lives, and praying together. Every week feels the same, and I’m worried that my spiritual growth is stunted. I long for friendships that inspire me to grow in faith. Please pray for me to find a church where I can connect, not only for my sake but for my children’s as well. I want them to see the beauty of being part of God’s family.

Dear Laura, I appreciate your openness in sharing your struggles. It’s entirely understandable to feel overwhelmed, especially as a single mother. Remember that Jesus invites us to be part of His community, as seen in Matthew 17:20, where He tells us about the power of faith, even as small as a mustard seed. Your desire for a supportive church family is a beautiful prayer, and it brings to mind Proverbs 3:5, which encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts. As you take steps to seek out a church community, I encourage you to be brave and reach out to other mothers or groups that focus on family ministry. You will find that many people desire the same support you are seeking. Do not forget that God is with you on this journey, and He cares deeply for you and your children. I will be praying that you find a nurturing community to grow in faith together. Lord, guide Laura to the right fellowship that will uplift her and her family. Amen.
