A Young Adult's Battle with Spiritual Indifference

Lately, I’ve been feeling indifferent about my faith. I used to be so passionate and involved in church activities, but lately, I struggle even to attend services. I often find myself questioning if my faith is genuine or just a routine. I feel like I’m drifting away from God, yet I don’t want to. I miss the days when I felt His presence so closely. I’m asking for prayer that I can feel God’s spirit stirring in me again, re-ignite that passion, and find the motivation to pursue my faith actively once more.

Pastor Deborah Yoon

Women's Ministry Leader, Cornerstone Church

Dear Liam, thank you for your transparency in sharing this struggle. Feeling indifferent in your faith journey is more common than you might think, especially during transitions in life. Just as the disciples faced moments of doubt, you too can turn back to the Lord and seek His guidance. Remember what Paul says in Philippians 4:7, 'And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.' It is crucial to recognize that faith is not solely about feelings; it is a commitment to seek God even when we don't feel His presence. As Proverbs 3:6 encourages, 'In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.' I encourage you to take small steps: engage in prayer, read Scripture, and find a group to fellowship with. I will pray for your heart to be stirred and for God to reveal His love for you in profound ways. May you find renewed passion and purpose in your faith journey.
