A Young Adult's Quest for Meaning in Pain
I’m a 24-year-old struggling to make sense of my life after being diagnosed with a chronic illness. It has robbed me of my energy and my dreams, making me question everything I once believed about God's goodness. I see friends pursuing their passions while I feel stuck and lost. I long to understand why God would allow me to suffer at such a young age when I see so much pain around the world. Please pray that I can find purpose in my suffering and that my faith will not waver. I want to trust God's plan, but I need help holding onto hope.

Dear Natalie, your feelings are valid and important. It’s a courageous step to share your struggles. Life's difficulties can often cloud our vision of God's goodness. In times of suffering, remember that God is refining us, much like gold is purified in fire (1 Peter 1:7). It’s also comforting to know that God sees your pain; as stated in John 16:33, 'In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.' Your journey may feel heavy, but know that He has a purpose for your life, as He reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11. Your story is still being written, and God is right there with you, even in the valley. May you feel His embrace and find strength in Him. Let’s pray: Father, guide Natalie as she navigates these challenges and grant her the peace that surpasses all understanding. Amen.
