A Young Man's Fear of Failing the Bar Exam

I am a 29-year-old law school graduate preparing for the bar exam, and I feel paralyzed by fear. As the exam date approaches, I struggle with self-doubt and anxiety that I might fail. This exam is critical for my career, and I constantly think about how disappointing it would be for my family and friends who have supported me through school. I pray for strength to overcome my fears and trust in the knowledge I have gained throughout my studies. I ask for your prayer that I may find peace as I prepare, and that God grants me the focus and clarity I need in the days leading up to the exam.

Dear Daniel, your feelings of anxiety as you approach the bar exam are completely understandable, but I want to encourage you to remember that God is with you through it all. In Isaiah 26:3, we are reminded, 'Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.' Trusting God means leaning into His understanding rather than your own. It is also important to remember 2 Timothy 1:7, which tells us, 'For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.' You have worked diligently for this moment, and that hard work is part of God's plan for you. As you prepare, spend time in prayer and scripture to fortify your spirit. Allow God's peace to fill you, and know that He is with you every step of the way. Let us pray for your confidence and clarity, that you may approach the exam with a heart full of peace.
