A Young Man's Struggle with Faith in College
As a freshman in college, I find myself wrestling with my faith. Growing up in the church, I always believed, but now I'm surrounded by different ideologies and perspectives that make me doubt everything I learned. I often feel lonely and lost, and it’s hard to find a community that shares my beliefs. I want to feel the closeness to God that I used to have, but I don’t know how to get there. Please pray for me, that I can find clarity, strength in my faith, and the right friends who will uplift me. I don’t want to lose the foundation I built in church; I just need guidance and support.

Dear Ethan, your courage in expressing your doubts is commendable, and it is completely normal to experience such challenges in your faith, especially in a new environment like college. Remember what Jesus said in John 10:10, that He came so we may have life, and have it more abundantly. This abundant life includes times of questioning, which can lead to a deeper understanding of who God is. I encourage you to seek out a campus ministry or a church that resonates with you; having a community is vital during this time. Also, don’t forget the grace found in Ephesians 2:8, which reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith, not by our works. God knows your heart, and He desires to strengthen and guide you through this process. Continue to pray, read His Word, and reach out to others who share your faith. I will be praying that you find clarity and community, and that your faith grows stronger than ever before.
Amen.
