A Young Parent's Fear of School Violence
As a young parent, I feel overwhelmed by the anxiety surrounding school safety today. I see the news and hear about tragic events that occur in schools, and I can’t help but feel scared for my little one. They are just starting their educational journey, and my heart aches at the thought of sending them off into what feels like a dangerous world. I’ve spoken with other parents who share similar fears, yet I often feel isolated in my worry. I struggle to find balance between teaching my child to be brave and ensuring they are safe. I ask for prayer that I may find peace and strength, and that I can cultivate an environment of love and support for my child despite these fears.

Dear Olivia, I commend your courage in facing such fears as a young parent. It’s important to recognize these feelings, and it’s even more vital to bring them before the Lord. In Isaiah 26:3, we find the promise that God will keep us in perfect peace when we trust in Him. School should be a place of learning and joy, and it can be overwhelming to think about the dangers. But take comfort in knowing that God is your ally in this journey of parenting. Romans 8:15 reminds us that we have been given the spirit of adoption, reassuring us that we belong to Him and that He is with us always. As you navigate these feelings and strive to create a safe and loving environment for your child, remember that prayer is powerful. Philippians 4:6 encourages us to bring our worries to God with thanksgiving. Let’s pray together: Lord, grant Olivia peace in her heart as she trusts You with her child's safety and future. Amen.
