A Young Physicist's Struggle with Belief
My name is Marcus, and I’m a 24-year-old physicist. I love learning about the universe and its intricate laws, but lately, I’ve been struggling to hold onto my faith. The more I understand about the cosmos, the more I feel distant from the God I once believed in wholeheartedly. I want to trust God’s love and plan for me, but I fear that science is pushing my faith to the sidelines. I am asking for prayers that I might experience a resurgence of faith that complements my passion for physics rather than contradicts it. Thank you for standing with me in this.

Dear Marcus, thank you for your candidness in sharing your struggle. It can be daunting to reconcile the vastness of the universe with personal faith. God created both the universe and your longing for understanding, so know that He welcomes your questions. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, we are reminded, 'For we walk by faith, not by sight.' While science offers us valuable insights, faith gives us a broader perspective of hope and purpose. As you delve into your studies, I encourage you to pray for understanding and insight that connects your work to God’s creation. Remember the love God has for you, as expressed in Romans 8:39, ‘Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God.’ Let us pray: Lord, I pray for Marcus. Help him to find peace between his passion for physics and his faith, reminding him of Your unchanging love in both. Amen.
