A Young Woman's Battle with Darkness and Doubt
I’m a 25-year-old woman, and I have been struggling with clinical depression for the past few years. There are days when I feel completely overwhelmed and isolated, even when I’m surrounded by friends and family. I keep praying for relief and clarity, but it feels like God is distant. I often find myself questioning if He’s even listening. I crave His presence, yet I feel so empty inside. I want to experience joy and hope again, but right now, all I feel is numbness and despair. I ask for prayers for healing, for God to lift this heavy burden off my heart, and for a renewed sense of His presence in my life.
Pastor's Response
Pastor Ruth Anderson
Young Adults Pastor
Dear Sarah, thank you for sharing your heart with us. I want to remind you that in times of distress, God is closest to us. The Bible assures us that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18). You are not alone in this fight; God sees your struggles and knows your pain. In Philippians 4:6-7, we are encouraged to bring our worries before God in prayer, and His peace will guard our hearts and minds. It is often in our darkest moments that we can experience the depth of God's love and comfort. I encourage you to keep seeking Him, even when it feels challenging. Remember that healing is a process, and God is with you every step of the way. Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, I lift Sarah before You. Please touch her heart and let her feel Your presence. Bring her healing and peace as she seeks You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
