A Young Woman's Burden to Support Her Family in Crisis

My name is Anita, and I feel an immense weight on my shoulders as I try to support my family back home in India. Due to recent political unrest, they have lost their jobs, and I have been sending as much money as I can from my own salary here. I often go without to ensure they have enough, but I worry that my sacrifices will not be enough to see them through this tough time. It breaks my heart to hear their struggles, and I feel guilty for not being there. I’m asking for prayer that God will provide for them, give them strength, and help me find a better-paying job so I can better support them in their time of need.

Dear Anita, thank you for your heartfelt request. It is truly commendable how you are doing everything possible to support your family during such difficult times. Your love and sacrifice resonate deeply with the heart of our Savior. Ecclesiastes 9:11 reminds us that 'the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong.' Hardship can often feel overwhelming, yet know that God is in control of every situation. In times of uncertainty, lean into the promise of Deuteronomy 8:18, which tells us that 'thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth.' Trust in His provision and guidance as you seek new job opportunities. I encourage you to also meditate on 1 Peter 5:7, where we are reminded to 'cast all your care upon him; for he careth for you.' Let us pray that God will provide both for your family’s needs and for your own, granting you peace and strength as you navigate this challenge.
