A Young Woman's Longing for Connection with God
I’m reaching out because I feel so lost in my faith right now. I once thrived in our youth group, but over the past year, I have been through so many changes—moving to a new city and starting college—and it feels like my relationship with God has faded into the background. I miss the vibrant connection I once had with Him and the fellowship with my friends. I find myself feeling guilty for not praying or reading the Bible as I should. I long for that intimacy with God again, but I don’t know where to start. Please pray that I can find my way back, that God would ignite a fire in my heart for Him once more, and that I would grasp the importance of my salvation in Christ.
Pastor's Response
Pastor Michael Thompson
Senior Pastor, Bethel Church
Dear Sophie, thank you for your openness and vulnerability in sharing your journey with us. Transitioning to a new environment can often feel overwhelming, particularly in our spiritual lives. Remember that God desires a deep relationship with you, and He is always present, even when it feels like you are distant. In Acts 4:12, we learn that there is salvation in no other name but Jesus, and He invites you to return to Him—no matter where you are.
I encourage you to take small steps to revive your relationship with God. start with simple prayers or scripture readings that resonate with your heart. Look for a local church or campus fellowship where you can engage with others who share your faith. God is waiting for you to turn back to Him, and He promises in Philippians 4:7 that His peace will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as you take those steps.
Let’s pray: "Heavenly Father, I lift Sophie up to You. Help her rediscover her passion for You and surround her with a community that uplifts and encourages her. Amen."
