An Elder's Struggle with Unanswered Prayers
Dear Lord, I feel weary from years of praying for my family's unity. Despite my faith and efforts, they remain distant and divided. I often wonder if my prayers matter or if I’m just going through the motions. It’s tough to keep believing in Your goodness when I see no change. I need prayer that I may find hope and continue to trust in Your timing. Please help me stay steadfast in faith, even when it feels like my prayers go unanswered.

Dear Harold, thank you for your honesty and for sharing your heart with us. It’s understandable to feel disheartened when prayers seem unanswered, but remember, our God is faithful. In Jeremiah 29:11, He promises that He has plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us. Your prayers are powerful; they are not in vain. In fact, Hebrews 11:1 reminds us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for. Even when you can’t see it, God is at work. Remember that sometimes the journey takes longer than we anticipate. Continue to pray for your family, and trust that the Lord is working behind the scenes. Lean into His promise in Philippians 4:7, that His peace will guard your heart. I’m praying with you for a breakthrough in your family’s relationships and that God will give you the strength to persevere.
