Anxious About a Major Surgery Ahead
I’m a 30-year-old woman who has been diagnosed with a serious health issue that requires major surgery. The thought of the procedure itself makes me anxious, but I’m even more afraid of the potential complications and the recovery process. I feel a weight on my chest when I think about it, and it’s hard to focus on anything else. I want to be healthy and strong because I know I have a purpose to fulfill in this life, but right now, my fears are overwhelming. I ask for prayers that I may find peace and strength as I prepare for this surgery, and that I trust God for a positive outcome.

Dear Jessica, thank you for trusting us with your prayer request. It’s completely understandable to feel anxiety about an upcoming surgery, especially when it carries serious implications for your health. I want to remind you of the comforting truth found in Philippians 4:6-7, where it says, 'Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.' Take your fears and doubts to Him in prayer, for He is near to you. Additionally, I encourage you to hold on to Psalm 34:18, which tells us that 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart.' He sees your struggles and is here to support you. Remember, in Exodus 15:26, God reminds us, 'I am the Lord that healeth thee.' Trust in His healing power, and lean on your faith during this time. We are all praying for you, Jessica. Let’s pray together: "Dear Lord, please hold Jessica close as she approaches surgery. Grant her peace and a successful healing process. Amen."
