Balancing Family Life and Seminary Ambitions
As a 40-year-old father of three, I am contemplating attending seminary. I am concerned about how to balance family life with the demands of studies and ministry. My children need my time and attention, and I’m wrestling with whether this calling will take away from my family. Please pray that I receive wisdom and strength in making this decision. I want to faithfully serve God while also being a dedicated father and husband. I believe that God can help me find the right balance, but I need your prayers for clarity and strength.

Hello Mark, thank you for sharing your heart with us. It’s commendable that you’re considering seminary while prioritizing your family. Balancing responsibilities can be challenging, but remember that God calls us to both serve Him and love our families. As it says in Colossians 3:23, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men." Your ambition for seminary doesn't have to come at the expense of your family. Pray for wisdom, as James 1:5 reminds us that if we ask, God gives generously. Remember, family is a ministry in itself, and God values that. Lean on Him for strength, and don’t hesitate to look for programs that offer flexibility for families.
