Battling Anxiety from Past Family Trauma
Hi, I’m Lydia. For years, I have battled anxiety rooted in childhood trauma, particularly the fear of being abandoned by my family. After my mother passed away, my father became distant, causing me to feel unwanted and alone. Every time I form a connection with someone, this fear creeps in, and I find myself withdrawing to avoid the pain of potential loss. I know that I need healing and to rely on God’s promises, but sometimes it feels impossible. I am asking for prayer that I may find courage to confront these feelings and trust that God will not abandon me. I want to live freely and love deeply without the shadow of anxiety looming over me.

Dear Lydia, thank you for your heartfelt prayer request. It’s commendable that you are seeking healing. Your experiences have shaped you, but they do not define who you are. Remember that God is deeply aware of your pain. Lamentations 3:23 tells us that His mercies are new every morning; great is His faithfulness. God desires to bring you comfort and healing. Philippians 4:6 encourages us to bring our anxieties to God in prayer, which is a powerful step toward healing. In Christ, you are never abandoned; He promises in John 14:18, 'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.' I encourage you to find rest in His promises and take intentional steps toward trusting Him fully. I will pray for you to experience His peace and healing as you navigate through these feelings. May you feel His embrace today.
