Battling Anxiety Over My Self-Worth
My name is David, and I'm a 30-year-old artist struggling with feelings of inadequacy. I live in a creative community, but rather than feeling inspired, I often feel fearful and anxious when I see other artists gaining recognition and success. I’ve worked hard on my craft, but I constantly doubt my abilities and question whether I’m good enough. It’s affecting my motivation and joy in creating. I long to feel secure in my identity and purpose, not defined by the accolades or recognition of others. Please pray for me that I may find confidence and assurance in my unique journey and artistic expression.

Dear David, thank you for opening up about your struggles. It’s brave to express your feelings of inadequacy, especially in a world that often promotes comparison. Remember that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Your worth is not found in others’ opinions but in being a child of God. The gifts you possess are special and meant to glorify Him. As you navigate this creative journey, cling to Lamentations 3:22-23, which reminds us of God’s faithfulness and mercies that are new every morning. Embrace who you are, knowing that God has a specific plan for your life. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, I pray for David as he seeks Your affirmation and peace. Help him understand and embrace his worth in You, releasing the burden of comparison. Amen.
