Boldness in Sharing Faith with New Neighbors
Hi, I’m Jessica, a 22-year-old college student. I recently moved into a dorm, and I have a neighbor named Alex who seems to be struggling with anxiety and loneliness. I feel a strong desire to help him through sharing my faith in Christ, but I often feel shy and hesitate to speak up. Please pray for courage and wisdom as I navigate these conversations. I want to be a source of comfort and light to him, but I’m unsure how to bring up my faith without being pushy. Thank you for your support!

Dear Jessica,
Thank you for sharing your request with us. Your heart to reach out to Alex is commendable, and God can use you as an instrument of His love and peace. It’s natural to feel shy or hesitant when discussing faith, but remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, as stated in 2 Timothy 1:7. Instead, He equips us with strength and power to share His love.
As you build your friendship with Alex, look for opportunities to listen and understand his struggles. Sometimes just being present and showing support can open doors to deeper conversations about faith. John 10:10 reminds us that Jesus came to give us life more abundantly, and sharing this hope can be life-changing for someone in need.
Let’s pray: Lord, I pray for Jessica and her neighbor Alex. Grant her courage and wisdom to share her faith in a way that reflects Your love. May Alex find comfort and hope in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
