Bringing Light to a Dark Room
Hi, I’m Aisha, and I’m recovering from a major illness in the hospital. My roommate, Eliza, seems to be in a dark place both physically and emotionally. I know she has faced numerous challenges in life, and I can see that she is struggling with hope. I’ve been praying for her healing and comfort, but I feel an urgency to share the hope I have in Jesus. I’m unsure how to approach her without adding to her burdens. I ask for prayer that I can be sensitive to her needs and that God would open a door for a heartfelt conversation about faith and salvation. Thank you for your prayers.

Dear Aisha, your compassion for Eliza during your own recovery is a beautiful testament to God’s love at work in you. It’s clear that you desire to be a light in her life, which aligns with the call to 'let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven' (Matthew 5:16). Sharing your faith can be life-changing, especially for someone who is feeling hopeless. Remember, 'For I know the plans I have for you, saith the Lord, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end' (Jeremiah 29:11). This message of hope is what you can offer Eliza. Approach her with kindness and be open to where the conversation leads. Trust that God will guide your words and actions. Let’s pray together: Lord, bless Aisha as she seeks to reach Eliza with Your love. May their conversation lead to healing and hope, and may Eliza be open to Your grace. Amen.
