Building Trust in a Second Marriage with Fear
As I prepare to enter my second marriage at 38, I find myself struggling with trust issues stemming from my first marriage. The betrayal I experienced has left deep scars. My fiancé is wonderful and patient, but I fear that I won't be able to fully trust him. I pray for God’s help to release the pain and fear that I carry. I want to build a loving and secure relationship, one that reflects His blessings. Please pray that I can surrender my past to God and allow His love to heal my wounds, paving the way for a fresh start together.

Dear Linda, thank you for your heartfelt request. It’s natural to carry concerns from past experiences, but God offers us hope for the future. In Ruth 1:16, we see a beautiful example of commitment and trust: 'And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee; for whither thou goest, I will go.' Just as Ruth trusted in God’s plan, you too can bring your fears before Him and trust in His love. Remember that in Ephesians 5:25, husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church. This means embracing patience and understanding. Also, 1 Peter 4:8 reminds us, 'And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.' May you both cultivate a love that overcomes past hurts. Let’s pray together: Lord, I ask that Linda may find peace and trust in her new marriage as she rests in Your love. Amen.
