Caring for My Spouse After His Stroke
My husband had a stroke last month, and my heart is heavy as I take on the role of his caregiver. Watching him struggle to regain his words and mobility is devastating. I feel overwhelmed and scared about the future. I never imagined I would be in this position. Each day brings its own challenges, and I find it hard to stay strong. My faith feels shaken, and I often cry out to God for help. I’m asking for prayer not only for my husband’s healing but also for strength and wisdom as I navigate this new reality.

Dear Sarah, I want you to know that you are not alone in this difficult journey. God is near to the brokenhearted, and He is with you both in this time of trial (Psalms 34:18). It's natural to feel overwhelmed, but remember that you can cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). As you care for your husband, don't forget to care for your own spirit as well. James 5:14 reminds us to call upon the elders of the church for prayer; consider reaching out for support from your community. Also, pray together when possible, for there is strength in shared faith. Remember, God promises in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore health and heal wounds. I will be praying for both you and your husband, asking God to provide peace, comfort, and healing in this challenging season. May you both feel His loving presence.
