Carrying the Weight of Financial Worry
I'm a 32-year-old single mother trying to raise my two children while keeping a roof over our heads. Even though I have a stable job and my needs are met, I constantly find myself gripped by anxiety over money. I worry about unexpected expenses that could come up, and the thought of not being able to provide for my kids terrifies me. My friends and family tell me that I'm doing well, but I can't shake this feeling of dread. I often find myself lying awake at night, running through scenarios of financial disaster in my mind. I’m asking for prayer to help me release these fears and to trust that God will provide as He promises.

Dear Megan, thank you for reaching out with such a heartfelt prayer request. I understand that the burden of financial anxiety can feel overwhelming, especially as a single mother. It’s important to remember that our God is a provider. In Philippians 4:19, we are assured, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). I encourage you to meditate on 1 Peter 5:7, which says, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." Letting go of your anxieties and trusting Him can be challenging, but He is always there, ready to carry your burdens. As you pray, consider keeping a gratitude journal where you note the provisions you see daily. This practice can help shift your focus away from worry and onto God’s faithfulness. I’ll pray for you to find peace and trust in God’s promises, knowing that He will be your guide and comfort. May you feel His presence and provision abundantly in your life.
