Coping with Anger in Military Reintegration
Gracious Father, I am struggling to cope with my husband’s anger since returning from deployment. His PTSD has brought forth feelings of frustration and helplessness, and it weighs heavily on me. I feel like I’m walking on eggshells, trying to avoid situations that may trigger his outbursts. I pray for healing in his heart and mind, and for the ability to communicate openly without fear. Help us to find healthy ways to express our emotions and to lean on each other for support. Protect our marriage from the strains of this journey, and fill our home with Your love and peace.

Dear Tina, your prayer is a raw and honest reflection of the challenges many face during reintegration. Anger can be a difficult emotion to navigate, but remember that God is near to the troubled (Psalm 34:18). It’s essential to foster open communication and express your feelings without fear of judgment. Encourage your husband to share his struggles; he may not even realize the impact of his anger. Healing begins when we bring our burdens to the Lord, who assures us in 1 Peter 5:7 that we can cast all our cares on Him. I urge you both to seek professional help to learn how to cope with these emotions together. Let us pray for peace to fill your hearts and for healing in your marriage, so love may shine brightly in your home once again. Amen.
