Coping With Exhaustion and Fear
I am Harold, a 60-year-old male who cares for my disabled son. My heart aches as I watch him struggle daily. The responsibilities weigh heavily on me, and I often feel exhausted and fearful about the future. I find it hard to sleep, constantly worrying about what will happen if I'm not around to provide care. I long for peace and renewed energy to support my son adequately. Please pray for me and my family as we navigate this difficult road together.

Dear Harold, thank you for reaching out and sharing your heartfelt prayers. Caring for a child with special needs is a profound commitment, and it’s completely understandable to feel exhausted. I want to remind you of John 14:27, where Jesus says, 'Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.' Seek this peace in your prayers and be assured that God is with you. Additionally, in 1 Peter 5:7, we are encouraged to 'Cast all your care upon him; for he careth for you.' God knows your heart and your burdens. Please remember to take moments for yourself; it’s not selfish, but necessary. In Philippians 4:6, God's Word encourages us to present our requests to Him, and He will provide comfort. Let's pray: Lord, I lift Harold and his son up to You. Grant Harold strength and the peace that surpasses all understanding as he cares for his son. Amen.
