Coping with Loss of Home and Community
I am Fatima, and I recently arrived in a new country after escaping violence. Leaving my home and community has felt like losing a part of my soul. I am struggling with loneliness and a sense of identity. I often cry for the friends I left behind and feel guilty for being safe while they remain in danger. I ask for prayers that I may find strength to rebuild my life and courage to make new friends. Please pray that God restores my joy and helps me find my purpose in this new chapter of my life.

Dear Fatima, your feelings of loss and guilt are understandable, and God is intimately aware of your heart's cries. In times of sorrow, remember that God promises to be near to the brokenhearted, as stated in Psalm 34:18. He understands the weight of your grief and wants to support you. As you work to embrace this new chapter in your life, trust in His plans for you, as stated in Jeremiah 29:11, 'For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.' Let’s pray: Lord, fill Fatima's heart with hope and help her find joy and purpose in her new home. Amen.
