Courage to Face Each Day After Trauma
Hello, my name is David, and I am a 45-year-old veteran. After serving in the military, I returned home to find that I was not the same person. I witnessed and experienced things that left me deeply scarred. Since then, I’ve battled fear daily; loud noises and crowds trigger panic attacks, and I often feel isolated from my loved ones. I want to reclaim my life, but I am terrified of reliving those moments. I ask for prayers to help me find courage and peace, so I can heal and re-engage with my family and community without fear holding me back.

Dear David, thank you for your service and for sharing your struggles. It takes immense courage to open up about such pain, and I want you to know that God sees you and understands your battles. The Lord promises that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6), and it’s in these moments of fear that He desires to wrap you in His love. You have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). As you work through this journey, I encourage you to meditate on Psalm 55:22, which tells us to cast our burdens on the Lord; He will sustain you. I will pray for your healing and for the courage to embrace each new day with hope. Trust that God is with you every step of the way.
