Deciding Whether to Forgive and Rebuild
My husband and I have been together for twenty years, but everything changed after he confessed to having an affair. I feel like my entire world has been turned upside down, and I am questioning everything about our life together. I love him deeply, but I am struggling with the idea of rebuilding trust when I am still feeling so raw and vulnerable. I ask for prayers as I try to find a path forward. I need discernment and peace to know if forgiveness is possible and if we can heal together.

Dear Lisa, I can only imagine the turmoil you are experiencing right now. It is natural to feel raw and vulnerable when faced with such betrayal. Remember, God is always present in our pain and offers healing for the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). As you seek to discern the path forward, consider the power of forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32 encourages us to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you. Healing and rebuilding trust is a journey, not a destination. It will take time, and it is essential to communicate openly with your husband about your feelings. Pray together, seeking God's guidance and strength to navigate this challenging season. I will be praying for you both to find peace and clarity in your journey together.
