Desiring a Breakthrough for My Mocking Sibling

I feel a deep sense of desperation for my younger brother. He has become increasingly vocal about his disdain for Christianity, often making fun of my beliefs and the church. I love him dearly, but the mockery cuts deeply, and I worry for his soul. I have tried to engage in meaningful conversations about faith, but they often devolve into arguments or laughter at my expense. I believe in the transformative power of God’s grace, but right now, it feels far away. I ask for prayer that God would break through the barriers of pride and skepticism in my brother's heart. Please pray that he comes to know Christ and experiences the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Dear Emily, thank you for sharing your heart with me. It’s clear how much you love your brother and desire for him to come to know Christ. The pain of mockery from a loved one can be deeply hurtful, and it’s understandable that you feel discouraged. However, remember that God is in the business of transforming hearts. We read in Romans 6:23 that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. This incredible gift is available to your brother, no matter how far he seems from it right now. God desires that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9), and your prayers are vital in this process. I encourage you to continue showing him love and kindness, even in the face of mockery, as your example of Christ’s love may eventually penetrate his heart. Let's pray together that God breaks down the barriers in his life and opens his heart to the truth and salvation. Your faithfulness in prayer is a powerful tool in God’s hands.
