Desiring Consistency in My Relationship with Scripture
Hello, I’m writing because I truly desire to have a more consistent relationship with the Bible but often feel ashamed when I fail. I want to grow spiritually and feel closer to God, but life gets hectic, and I find myself neglecting my time in the Word. I’ve been wrestling with feelings of guilt and disappointment in myself. I know how vital the Scriptures are for my faith, yet I struggle to make it a priority. It hurts to think that I am not honoring my commitment to God. I ask for prayers for focus and discipline, that I may set aside time each day to read and meditate on the Scriptures without distractions.

Dear Sara, thank you for reaching out with your heartfelt request. It’s clear that you have a strong desire to deepen your relationship with God through His Word. Remember that it’s not about perfection or performance; it’s about connection. God understands your struggles and desires a genuine relationship with you. As you strive for consistency, reflect on Proverbs 3:5, 'Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.' Focus on cultivating a heart that seeks Him and allow His grace to guide you. In Philippians 1:6, we are reminded that 'He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.' You are a work in progress, and that is perfectly okay. I encourage you to find a reading plan that excites you and allows you to engage with God’s Word creatively. Let us pray: Lord, I pray for Sara, that You grant her the desire and discipline to read Your Word faithfully and that she may feel Your presence as she seeks You. Amen.
