Desiring Fairness in a Competitive Workplace
I’m a 53-year-old accountant feeling disillusioned at work. Despite holding a senior position, I learned that my male colleagues are often paid more for similar roles. It feels like a constant battle to prove my worth, and I worry that my age and gender are working against me. On some days, it feels too heavy to bear, especially when I see my hard work not reflected in my paycheck. I'm seeking prayer for strength to address this issue with my management and for favor in being recognized for my contributions. I want to trust that God will bring justice to my situation.

Dear Nancy, thank you for opening up about your situation. It’s truly challenging when our hard work seems unrecognized and undervalued. Your willingness to confront these inequalities speaks volumes about your character. Remember, God sees your efforts and your heart. In Ecclesiastes 9:11, it says, 'The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong...' This reassures us that success does not always come in the forms we expect, but God has your best interests at heart. As you consider discussing your concerns with management, lean on the truth found in Philippians 4:19, knowing that God will supply your every need. May He grant you peace and strength in this process, and may justice reign in your workplace. I am praying for favor and clarity as you navigate this challenge.
