Desperate for My Teen's Healing After Attempted Suicide
I’m reaching out for prayer because my 16-year-old son, Jacob, recently attempted suicide. Our family has been fractured since his father and I divorced last year, and he has been really struggling with feelings of loneliness and hopelessness. I feel overwhelmed and helpless, unsure of how to help him or communicate effectively about his pain. It pains me to see him like this, and I fear for his future. I want to understand how to support him and help him heal. Please pray for Jacob's mental health and for our family to find the strength to come together in this crisis. I am asking God to restore hope in Jacob’s heart and to guide us as parents to be the support he needs.

Emily, my heart goes out to you during this tremendously difficult time. Your love and concern for Jacob shine through in your words, and it's clear that you desire healing for him. Remember that God is close to the brokenhearted, as it says in Psalms 34:18, 'The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' It is normal to feel overwhelmed, but lean on God’s strength. His Word assures us that He cares for us deeply, as reflected in 1 Peter 5:7, 'Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.' Your family is going through a difficult season, but do not lose hope; God can mend broken relationships. Pray for wisdom to communicate with Jacob and for him to feel God’s love in this painful time. Let’s pray together: Dear Heavenly Father, we lift Jacob up to you and ask for Your healing touch upon his life. Restore hope and peace in their family. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
