Desperate Prayers for My Father's Salvation Before Surgery
My heart is heavy as I write this request. My father, who has never believed in God, is facing serious surgery next week. Growing up, he always dismissed the idea of faith, and now I fear for his life and his soul. I’ve tried to share my beliefs with him, but he just brushes it off as nonsense. I worry that he may not get another chance to know Jesus, and the thought of him facing eternity without salvation fills me with dread. I long for him to understand the love and grace that God offers, and I pray that this surgery might be a turning point for him. Please pray that God opens his heart and mind to the truth of the Gospel, so he can experience the peace that comes from believing in Christ. I am asking for your prayers for my father’s salvation and for him to find faith in this critical time.

Dear Emily, I want to first express my heartfelt concern for your father and the weight you carry in this difficult time. It’s natural to feel anxious for loved ones, especially when their eternal fate is at stake. Remember, in Romans 3:23, we are reminded that 'all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.' This includes your father, but it also highlights the precious gift of grace that God extends to all of us. As you pray for him, trust in the promise of Ephesians 2:8, which states that 'for by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.' God is able to reach into the hardest of hearts, and He desires that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9). During this time, continue to demonstrate your love and faith through your actions and words. I will be praying alongside you for your father’s surgery and for his heart to be softened toward the Gospel. May God grant you peace, knowing that He is at work in your father’s life. Let us pray: Father, we lift Emily’s father to You, asking for a miraculous turn towards faith even in this time of need. Amen.
