Determined Yet Afraid: A Calling to Plant
As I prepare to plant a church, I find myself wrestling with a genuine sense of determination coupled with deep fear. I feel called to share the Gospel in my community, but the journey seems overwhelming. I am excited about the potential impact we can make, yet I worry about my leadership skills and whether I can nurture a vibrant church. I fear the rejection from those who may not be interested or supportive. I’m reaching out for prayer as I seek God's strength to overcome my fears, clarity in my mission, and the faith to trust in His timing and plan.

Dear Elijah, your mix of determination and fear is a testament to the weight of the calling you feel on your life. It is not uncommon to experience these contrasting emotions, especially when pursuing something so significant. Remember, though, that God equips those He calls. In Philippians 4:13, we are reminded, 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' You are not called to walk this path alone; lean into His strength. God has a purpose for you, and in Romans 8:28, we are assured that all things work together for good to them that love God. As you face challenges, find peace in knowing that God has a plan for your church planting journey (Jeremiah 29:11). I will pray for you, asking that you may find courage in His promises and trust in His perfect timing.
