Doubting God in the Face of Life’s Hardships
I’m a 29-year-old woman who has faced several hardships in life, from losing loved ones to battling chronic illness. These experiences have led me to question God’s goodness and existence. I used to have unwavering faith, but now I find myself feeling angry and alone. I struggle to understand how a loving God can allow suffering. I am reaching out for prayer that I may regain my faith and trust in God’s plan for my life. I want to believe that there is a purpose behind my pain, but I need help to see it. Please pray that I can find solace and hope, that I may feel God’s presence in my life once again, and that I can rise above this doubt.

Dear Sarah, your vulnerability in sharing your struggles is a testament to your strength. It’s understandable to question God’s goodness, especially when faced with such hardship. Remember, though, that God invites our doubts and is willing to walk through the pain with us. Romans 8:38 reassures us that nothing can separate us from His love, even in our darkest moments. In times of uncertainty, cling to Jeremiah 29:11, where God promises a hopeful future, despite our present suffering. Moreover, remember that your feelings are valid, but they do not define God’s character. Ask Him for clarity, as James 1:5 reminds us that He gives wisdom generously to those who seek it. Let's pray: Gracious Father, I ask that You comfort Sarah and restore her faith. Help her to see Your love and purpose in her life, even through the pain. Amen.
