Doubting God’s Promises During Life’s Trials
Hi, I’m Aisha, and I find myself in a state of deep confusion and doubt about God’s promises. It's been a rough season—job loss, family issues, and health scares. I’ve often recited the words from John 10:10 about living life abundantly, but lately, I feel anything but abundant. I keep asking myself, 'Where is God in all this?' I remember His promises, but they feel distant and unfulfilled amidst my suffering. I long for peace and reassurance, but I fear I am losing my faith. Please pray that I can find hope in these trials and rekindle my trust in God’s plan for me.

Dear Aisha, thank you for your honesty in sharing your struggles. I understand how overwhelming it can feel when life presents us with challenges that shake our faith. In times like this, it’s essential to remember that God is present, even when He feels distant. Psalm 46:10 advises us to 'be still, and know that I am God.' This stillness allows us to listen for His voice amidst the chaos. Remember, God’s promises are not based on our circumstances but on His unchanging nature. In Romans 10:17 we learn, 'So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.' Allow His Word to speak to your heart and build your faith during this time. Let us pray for renewed hope and a deeper trust in God’s promises, believing that He is working all things together for your good, as stated in Romans 8:28.
